Founded by artist and floral designer D. Sloan, bōtan is not your typical flower shop. Our name comes from both the Japanese word for peony (牡丹) and the Latin root for greenery—representing the blend of cultural tradition and natural elegance that defines our work.

Inspired by wabi-sabi and ikebana, bōtan’s flower arrangements highlight simplicity, asymmetry, and beauty in imperfection. Every stem, bloom, and vessel is carefully considered. No filler, no fluff—just modern floral artistry that speaks for itself.
